If someone wants a smile makeover in our office, we go through quite a few procedures before we get to that point. We’ll sit down and discuss the reasoning why they want to change their teeth. Discoloration, is it chipped, is it crooked? And if so, what can we do for them to help them get their smile? Once we talk to them and go over a thing, why they want their smile, we have a couple of procedures where we bring them in. We take photographs, we take impressions, we do study models, we bring them back and tell them exactly what we think we can do with their input because we want to know exactly what they want. If they decide they want to proceed with it, we have a lab do a mock-up, a wax-up of what we want their teeth to look like in their final situation. Once we get it back, we bring the patient in for what we call a trial smile. And we take an impression of the trial and we put it in their mouth and we show them right there what their temporary is gonna look like and what their final is gonna look like. That way it gives them that decision right then and there whether they want to proceed with treatment or not. And usually when they see the big change in the trial smile, it’s such a huge turnaround that they want to get started right away.
